LIASC Body Contouring Centre
If after exercise and proper diet, you are within your healthy weight range, but simply cannot lose the belly bulge, then lipo selection will work beautifully for you. Your physician will be able to help you decide after taking a complete and thorough physical examination, including an extensive medical history. It is important to be entirely open with our plastic surgeon about any concerns you may have. After weighing the risks and benefits, many people find this surgery is just the answer they have been looking for to solve their problems with abdominal flab. During traditional liposuction, the abdomen is numbed to eliminate sensation. Next, a small incision is made in the area to be drained of fatty deposits. A small tube (or cannula) is placed into the incision, and a vacuum-like machine sucks out the thick, fatty masses. Following a brief recovery period, most patients find all evidence of the surgery (save for the slimmer stomach!) gone in a matter of weeks. While complications can occur, an experienced plastic surgeon can reduce or eliminate these risks entirely.
The concept of surgery is simple – the fat is vacuumed out, and you’re good to go. Our skilled surgeons are well trained in all aspects of the procedure, and will be able to explain the process to you in as much detail as you wish. Following is a basic outline of liposelection surgery:
How it Works:
The VASER Lipo System uses small-diameter, solid, multi-ringed probes to deliver a minimal level of ultrasonic vibrating energy to specifically target and liquefy the fatty component of the tissue. Fatty tissue is comprised of large, weak fat cells that either lyse or which are dislodged from their supporting tissues by contact with the ultrasonic VASER probe.
1. The fatty layer is infused with tumescent fluid
2. The high frequency vibration of VASER ultrasonic probes causes the fat cells to break apart and emulsify into the infusion fluid.
3. Emulsified fat is easily removed via specially designed VentX Suction Cannulae.
4. Remodeling and revascularization of the preserved tissue promotes skin retraction.
